Rila Monastery Trip

Plovdiv-Asen’s Fortress-Bachkovo Monastery Trip

The earliest archeological findings for Asen’s Fortress date back from the time of the Thracians. The area was also inhabited during the Ancient Roman and Early Byzantine period. It was considerably renovated in 1231, during the rule of Bulgarian King Ivan Asen II, to serve as a border fortification against Latin raids.

Bachkovo Monastery is the second largest in Bulgaria. It was built in 1083, situated in the Chepelare River Valley, picturesquely surrounded by the hills of Rhodope Mountains.

Veliko Tаrnovo Trip

Belogradchik Cliffs & Caves Trip

The Belogradchik Cliffs are unique rock-formations located on the western slopes of the Balkan Mountains. The rocks vary in color primarily from red to gray to yellow. Some of the formations reach up to 200m in height. Many of the rocks have fantastic shapes and are associated with interesting legends. This marvelous natural phenomenon was carved by dripping rain water and strong winds over a period of 200 million years.

Iskar Gorge Trip

Skaklya Waterfall is situated in Iskar Gorge and is the 4th highest waterfall in Bulgaria. The frozen waterfall in the winter becomes one of the most attractive places for ice-climbing.

The Lakatnik Cliffs are sandstone and limestone formations. The cliffs rise some 250 meters. The forces of erosion have also carved more than 100 caves in the limestone cliffs, the longest, Temnata dupka, is 9 km long.

Cherni Vrah Winter Hike

Cherni Vrah is the highest peak of Vitosha, the mountain near Sofia. It is rising to 2290 m above the sea level. The name means Black Peak. The hike level is intermediate, it takes approximate 2 hours uphill and 90 minutes downhill. Proper shoes and warm clothes are required during the winter. We can provide you walking sticks. This is one of the few seasonal 1-day trips. By request we can also organise it during other seasons.

Vratsa Cliffs Trip

Vratsa Karst Nature Reserve includes the northern rocky slopes of the Vratsa Mountain in the West Balkan Mountain Range. The Reserve contains an impressive, continuous 10 km long rocky outcrop, divided in the middle by the Vratsata Gorge and Leva River. The vertical rock walls of the gorge reach 450m. These are the highest cliffs in the Balkans. The reserve is protected due to the numerous interesting geomorphological formations with a global significance – whirlpools, sinkholes, caves, gorges, vertical rock walls, abysses, etc.

Thessaloniki Trip
