Koprivshtitsa Tour can be organised all year round.
The historic town of Koprivshtitsa is an architectural reserve, lying in the Topolnitsa River Valley, in the heart of Sredna Gora Mountains. The town of Koprivshtitsa was declared a city-museum in 1952. 19 years later, in 1971 it has also been declared an architectural and historical reserve. There are 388 monuments, architectural, historical, artistic, and ethnographic, mostly built in 18th and 19th century. Koprivshtitsa has been for years a craft and trading centre. Koprivshtitsa is the place where the first shot of the April Uprising was fired on the 20th of April 1876, one of the most important dates in the new Bulgarian history.
Our Koprivshtitsa Tour starts with picking you up at 09:00 from your accommodation place. The drive to Koprivshtitsa takes approximately 2 hours each way. You can optional choose visiting of six old houses, transformed into museums. There are two main areas to visit, the one where the most of the museums are situated and another one where the houses are also well preserved, but it is a living area. There are a few traditional restaurants, for having a lunch. A short hike in the hills around the town can be added to the program. Arriving back to Sofia around 18:00.
